Stephen Keshi says he discussed terms of the Contract and his reservations with the NFF President.
Out of contract Coach of the senior National team, Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi has denied some of the reports surrounding the protracted contract talks with the Nigeria Football Federation.
Keshi insisted he wasn’t offered a pay rise and is against working with a Foreign technical adviser.
In an exclusive interview with www.footballlive.ng, the Former Eagles Captain who is currently holidaying in the United States is expected to sign a new improved contract but Keshi revealed his Lawyers had gone through the provisions of the contract offered and the contentious issues had been pointed out to the President of the NFF.
” My Lawyer went through the contract and there were a lot of things in it I don’t like. I spoke with the President before I left and told him I wasn’t comfortable with some of the provisions of the Contract.”
” There was no clause for a pay rise, there was a suggestion of bringing in a Foreign Coach but I find this difficult to understand. If you want a Coach show him you have total trust in his abilities and these are areas I want to discuss with the NFF.”
The former Eagles gaffer disclosed he’ll return to the country and have a final sit down with his former employers.
Keshi’s contract was allowed to run out after the World Cup with the NFF failing to hire a new Coach for the team that failed to qualify for the 2015 AFCON.
