FOOTBALL: Ideye praises Pulis but striker doubtful ahead of Villa clash
West Brom’s Brown Ideye has revealed that he has a good working
relationship with Coach Tony Pulis and says he is cool with the manager.
West Brom hosts Aston Villa in midweek premier league action but it
is not clear if the 10m record signing will be fit to help the baggies
record three points.
“I tell him everything and when I’m going to see my family I also inform him and he tells me to just make sure I’m fit so I’m cool with him”
‘The pressure is with everybody at the club but we just have to keep on working hard and getting points because that is what we need right now”
Brown Ideye had a scan on Monday to access a possible twisted knee picked up in the dying minutes of Saturday’s 1-0 win over Southampton but it’s still unclear the extent of damage the injury has taken.
The headache for Pulis would be which strikers to select as Saido Berahino aggravated a foot injury in a tackle from Morgan Schneiderlin having only started the game after the medics issued an injection to his foot that was injured by Sunderland’s Lee Cattermole the previous weekend.
Another Nigerian striker Victor Anichebe is also out having hurt his groin in the warm-up at Burnley at the beginning of last month so Albion could head into the derby without all three of their forwards.
