Zesco United F.C. of Zambia popularly called “Team Ya Ziko”
has progressed to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup (CCC) after
defeating Enugu Rangers of Nigeria by 3-0 in the Second leg of their CCC
qualification match played on the 15th of April, 2017 in Ndola
Zambia.
Team Ya Ziko came out smoking from the blast of the whistle as
John Ching Andu put the host ahead
in the 25th minute of the match when a put a shot past the goal
Keeper of The Flying Antelopes Nana Bonsu which hit the right goal post and
sailed into the net. Ching Andu also
doubled the score line after he connected a cross with head which sailed into
the embrace of Nana’s net in the 35th minute. Zesco weren’t done yet
as they made it 3-0 through a nicely placed shot from Jesse Were which sailed into the top right corner of the net in the
65th minute to end Rangers’ journey in the 2017 CAF Confederations
Cup.
Rangers who arrived about 2hours to the kick-off of the match
left the stadium empty handed and the coach blamed the loss to the tiredness of
his players resulting from the journey.

aggregate win. The first leg encounter at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium (christened
“the Cathedral”) Enugu, Nigeria ended in a 2-2 draw after Enugu Ranger took a
