Iheanacho missing from Manu Garba's U20 final 21-man list for African Youth Championship
Head Coach of the Flying Eagles Manu Garba has dropped Manchester City youngster, Kelechi Iheanacho from his 21-man squad to represent Nigeria at the forthcoming U-20 African Youth Championship (AYC) in Senegal.
Nigeria
will play hosts Senegal, Congo (Brazzaville) and Cote d’Ivoire in Group
A of the tournament scheduled to hold between March 8 and 22nd, 2015,in
Dakar and M’Bour.
The list, which was released on Thursday, February 27, includes seven of Iheanacho’s former teammates (U-17) who won a record fourth FIFA U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in 2013.
However, the Nigerian international will not feature in the competition as a result of an unhealed injury.
Skipper Musa Muhammed, who led the U-17 squad to victory in the UAE is expected to lead this squad to Senegal. Other World Cup winners on the list are; Akinjide Idowu, Izuchukwu Omego, Abdullahi Alfa, Dele Alampasu, Chidera Ezeh and Taiwo Awoniyi.
